Mission and Research Themes of SIPL

The Signal and Information Processing Lab (SIPL) is part of the Multimedia Signal Processing Group, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics, of the Delft University of Technology.

The mission of SIPL is the development of the algorithmic and theoretical foundations of signal and information processing. A particular focus concerns the processing and information extraction of signals originating in the physical world. In addition, SIPL provides education in both basic and advanced courses in signal processing and information theory.

The main research areas currently covered are multimedia data compression (speech, audio, video), single- and multi-channel speech enhancement, signal processing for large-scale sensor networks, signal processing for hearing aids, multimedia content security, dependable multimedia and signal processing.
